Thermal Insulation: The primary function of the skull cap is to add a crucial layer of insulation to the gazebo. By creating an air gap between the roof and the skull cap, it helps to retain warmth inside the shelter during cold weather and keeps the interior cooler on hot, sunny days by reflecting heat.
Condensation Reduction: A major benefit of this additional layer is the significant reduction in condensation. The air gap prevents the warm, moist air inside the gazebo from coming into direct contact with the colder outer layer, thus eliminating the condensation drips that can be a nuisance in a single-skin shelter.
