The Daiwa Basiair X45X represents the absolute pinnacle of UK rod manufacturing. Here at Gerry’s, we’ve handled a lot of high-end carbon, but these are something else entirely. Daiwa has completely redesigned the blank from the ground up, utilizing a mandrel profile that is the thinnest they have ever produced in their UK facility.

The result? A rod that looks impossibly slim but packs a level of “punch” and recovery that has to be felt to be believed. By combining X45X Full Shield technology with HVF nanoplus, Daiwa has created a blank that resists twisting (torque) during the cast, ensuring every ounce of energy is transferred directly into distance and pinpoint accuracy.
