Pro Tip: When using Armadillo as a shock leader for extreme distance casting, use a Mahin Knot or a Tapered Leader Knot to join it to your mono main line. Because Dyneema is so slick, ensure you give the knot a firm pull to bed it down and trim the tags closely. The camo finish is particularly effective when “slack line” fishing; the broken color pattern prevents the leader from looking like a solid “wire” on the bottom, which can spook wary specimen fish.
