It is specifically designed for high-accuracy casting at short distances, providing the surgical precision needed to land a Method feeder inches from an island or deep into a marginal bay.

Despite its compact length, this rod is built from high-quality IM Carbon, giving it a surprisingly powerful but controlled action. It is engineered to handle “large fish” (like hard-fighting commercial carp) by utilizing a progressive curve that absorbs the violent “bolting” takes typical of Method feeder fishing. The mixed Cork/EVA handle and tubular reel seat ensure that even when a double-figure carp is trying to dive under your platform, you maintain a secure and comfortable grip.

Gerry’s Top Tip: On short rods like the 9ft Method, the “fight” happens much closer to the tip than with a 12ft rod. This means you have less “carbon” to absorb the lunges. To prevent hook-pulls, make sure your reel’s drag is set perfectly—you want it to give line just before the rod reaches its maximum curve.
