Product Details and Uses

Daiwa Generic Pole Sections | High-Grade UK Replacement Sections

Accidents on the bank happen to the best of us. Whether it is a sudden gust of wind, an awkward strike, or an unexpected snag, breaking a mid-section on a premium pole is every match angler’s nightmare. Fortunately, repairing your setup no longer means waiting weeks or paying premium prices for pole-specific spares. The Daiwa Generic Pole Sections offer a smart, cost-effective, and high-performance solution to get you back fishing immediately.

Exclusively engineered in Daiwa’s UK factory, these sections are manufactured using High Grade Carbon Technology. This ensures they are not just cheap replacements, but lightweight, incredibly rigid, and ultra-strong components that maintain the original balance and responsiveness of your pole. Designed specifically to fit all current UK-manufactured Daiwa poles (built on the standard UK mandrel), these generic sections are the ultimate fail-safe for serious match and coarse anglers.

Key Features & Product Details

  • High Grade Carbon Technology: Built from premium carbon fibre, ensuring exceptional wall strength without adding unnecessary weight or compromising your pole’s stiffness.

  • Universal UK Mandrel Fit: Specifically designed to seamlessly fit all current UK-manufactured Daiwa poles, making them an incredibly versatile spare to keep in your holdall.

  • Cost-Effective Replacement: Provides the renowned Daiwa quality and performance at a fraction of the cost of a dedicated, pole-specific spare section.

  • Seamless Taper Matching: Engineered with exact tolerances to ensure a snug, secure joint that won’t knock or slip under the pressure of playing big fish.

Specifications

Model Description Length Weight Sections

DGPS5-AU Generic #05 Section 1.65m 92g 1
DGPS6-AU Generic #06 Section 1.68m 111g 1
DGPS7-AU Generic #07 Section 1.70m 138g 1

Examples of Where to Use

  • Commercial Carp Fisheries: Keep a spare #4 or #5 section in your holdall during high-catch-rate matches. If a section gives out under the strain of a double-figure carp, you can swap it out and keep fishing without missing a beat.

  • Canal and River Match Fishing: Ideal for anglers who frequently ship back into tight, obstacle-heavy spaces (like fences, hedges, or towpaths) where the risk of accidentally crunching a mid-section is significantly higher.

  • Reviving Older Poles: A fantastic way to breathe new life into an older, discontinued UK-made Daiwa pole that might otherwise be retired due to a broken or severely worn #6 or #7 section.

🎣 Pro Tip from the Gerry’s Fishing Team

When fitting a new replacement section for the first time, never force the joint. While these are designed to fit all UK-manufactured Daiwa poles perfectly, slight variations in carbon wear on your existing sections can change how a new joint seats.

Push the section together gently with a slight twisting motion. If it feels a little loose against an older, heavily worn section, apply a thin coat of PTFE joint protector or carbon spray to build the diameter slightly and prevent carbon-on-carbon wear. This ensures the joint stays secure and extends the life of both your new section and your original pole!

Frequently Asked Questions

Will these sections fit my non-Daiwa pole?

No. These generic sections are built on Daiwa’s specific UK mandrel. They are guaranteed to fit current UK-manufactured Daiwa poles (such as the Airity, Tournament, Connoisseur, and Matchwinner ranges) but are highly unlikely to fit poles from other brands like Preston, Maver, or MAP.

Does a generic section change the action of my pole?

Because they are made with Daiwa’s High Grade Carbon Technology, they maintain excellent rigidity and lightness. While a top-tier flagship pole might feel fractionally different with a generic section compared to its exact bespoke spare, for the vast majority of fishing situations, the difference in balance and stiffness is virtually unnoticeable.

Are these sections ready to use straight out of the tube?

Yes, absolutely. They come perfectly finished and ready to slot straight into your existing setup. No cutting or sanding is required.

Which section do I need?

Simply count down from the tip of your pole. Your top kit comprises sections #1 and #2 (often combined in modern kits). The next section down is your #3, followed by the #4, and so on. Match the broken section number to the corresponding DGPS model in our specifications table.
