At Gerry’s Fishing, we often get asked for a reel that can “do it all” on a boat. While the narrow-spool versions are great for jigging, the Okuma Cavalla CAV-5II is the standard-width powerhouse that offers the extra line capacity needed for deeper water and heavier mono top-shots. This is a right-hand retrieve, 2-speed lever drag reel that combines high-end machining with the raw torque of a much larger winch.

Built from a single piece of 6061-T6 machined aluminium, the frame is incredibly rigid, ensuring that the 17-4 grade stainless steel gears never slip or bind under load. The 2-speed system is the real highlight: use the high gear to burn lures or recover line, and simply click into the low gear when you’re locked into a battle with a stubborn reef dweller.
