The Gerry’s Stainless Loops are an essential component for the serious tackle-maker and angler who prefers to pour their own leads. Designed for maximum reliability and structural integrity, these medium-gauge loops are precision-engineered to fit the vast majority of standard commercial lead moulds. Whether you are batch-producing sinkers for your own use or customizing weights for specific marks, these loops provide the secure attachment point you need to ensure your terminal tackle never lets you down during a fight.
Quantity: 100 loops per pack.
Material: High-grade Stainless Steel.
Gauge: Medium gauge (optimized for strength and ease of casting).
Compatibility: Designed to fit most standard lead moulds on the market.
Finish: Corrosion-resistant, ideal for long-term use in saltwater environments.
Universal Fit: Engineered to be compatible with a wide array of lead moulds, these loops take the guesswork out of your tackle-making process.
Corrosion Resistance: Unlike standard wire alternatives that can rust or weaken over time, our stainless steel construction ensures long-lasting durability, even when exposed to harsh saltwater conditions session after session.
Medium-Gauge Reliability: We have selected a medium-gauge wire that strikes the perfect balance between ease of use during the pouring process and the high-tensile strength required to land big fish. They are robust enough to handle the pressure of heavy leads and powerful casts without bending or deforming.
Consistency in Production: With 100 loops in every pack, you get the consistency needed for high-volume tackle production, ensuring every lead you pour features a uniform, high-quality attachment point.
When pouring your leads, ensure the loop is held perfectly upright and centered within the mould cavity. To prevent any movement during the pour, you can use a small amount of heat-resistant putty to hold the legs of the loop in place. Additionally, give the wire legs a slight “kink” or “bend” with pliers before inserting them into the mould; this increases the surface area for the molten lead to grip onto, creating an unbreakable bond once the metal cools.
DIY Tackle Workshops: The perfect solution for anglers who maintain their own stock of leads for shore or boat fishing.
Rough Ground Lead Making: Ideal for creating grip leads or plain leads tailored for snaggy marks where you want the security of a stainless steel loop that won’t fail when you need to pull for a break.
Customization: Great for modifying weight distributions or creating specialized shapes that aren’t readily available in retail stores.
Yes, the medium-gauge stainless steel is more than strong enough to handle heavy weights used for boat fishing. The material will not yield under the pressure of large deep-water sinkers.
No. Because they are made from high-quality stainless steel, they are highly resistant to oxidation. Even if they get wet during a session, they will not degrade or transfer rust to your other terminal tackle.
They are designed to be universally compatible with the vast majority of standard lead moulds. However, if you are using a non-standard or custom-machined mould with unusually shallow loop channels, a quick adjustment with a pair of side cutters is all that is required to achieve a perfect fit.
