The HTO Slam Pintail 130mm is one of the most innovative finesse lures we carry at Gerry’s Fishing. Designed specifically for the demands of UK salt and freshwater predators, this lure utilizes a unique “fish-in-fish” concept. By mounting a smaller, highly detailed shad lure inside the translucent body of the larger 130mm pintail, HTO has created a lure that offers the presence and casting weight of a large baitfish with the visual target of a much smaller one.

This clever design mimics a small, panicked baitfish perfectly while providing the erratic, wide-ranging action of a larger lure. The result is a “slalom” swimming motion that cuts through the water, creating a realistic vibration and visual flash that triggers an instinctive hunting response from bass, pollack, and large pike.

Fish-in-Fish Technology: The internally mounted shad provides a concentrated “strike point” for predators, mimicking the exact size of local forage like sprats or small sandeels while keeping the overall lure profile substantial.

Where to Use the HTO Slam Pintail

The 130mm Slam is a versatile “prospecting” lure. The Gerry’s team recommends it for:

Shallow Weedless Bass Fishing: Rig it on a 6/0 weighted weedless hook to fish over submerged kelp beds and rock gullies. The weedless setup allows you to put the lure exactly where the bass are hiding without snagging.
Vertical Boat Fishing: Drop it down over reefs or wrecks for pollack. The pin-tail vibrates at high frequencies as it drops, often inducing strikes on the fall.
