Ask any seasoned lure angler about the most influential jerkbait in history, and one name comes up every time: the Megabass Vision 110. At Gerry’s Fishing, we consider this the gold standard by which all other jerkbaits are measured. Designed by the legendary Yuki Ito, the “Oneten” isn’t just a lure; it’s a precision-engineered piece of fishing art.
While the user notes mention 10cm, the “110” in the name actually refers to its 110.5mm profile, which provides the perfect silhouette for imitating larger minnows, roach, or rudd. Whether you are tournament fishing or just stalking a local canal, the Vision 110 FW (Freshwater) offers a level of responsiveness and “flash” that triggers strikes when the fish are completely shut down.
The secret to the 110’s success is its erratic side-to-side darting. Unlike cheaper jerkbaits that simply “wobble,” the Vision 110 displaces water with a high-pitched roll and a sharp, unpredictable flash. Even on a steady retrieve, it swims with a lifelike “shiver,” but it truly comes alive when you snap the rod tip, causing it to dance like a panicked baitfish.
Megabass utilizes a sophisticated internal tungsten balancer system. During the cast, the weights shift to the tail to ensure the lure flies like an arrow, even into a breeze. Once it hits the water, the weights lock forward, lowering the center of gravity and allowing for an instant start-up. This means the lure is “fishing” the moment it touches the water.
The Vision 110 is designed to hover and slowly float in the strike zone during a pause. In freshwater, where predators like Pike and Zander often follow a lure before deciding to strike, this “suspension” is the ultimate trigger. It stays right in their face, daring them to take a bite.

Weed Edges & Drop-offs: Cast parallel to reed beds or lily pads. Use a “twitch-twitch-pause” rhythm to draw Pike out from their ambush points.
Large Canals & Rivers: The 110mm profile is a perfect match for the silverfish found in UK waterways. It’s a lethal tool for targeting nomadic “lunker” Perch.
Cold Water Winter Sessions: When the metabolism of the fish slows down, the 110’s ability to stay in the strike zone during a long pause (up to 5–10 seconds) is often the only way to get a bite.
Clear Water Lakes: The high-quality Megabass finishes are so realistic that they can withstand the close-up scrutiny of a wary predator in gin-clear water.
Gerry’s Pro Tip:
To get the absolute best out of the Vision 110, use a “Slack Line Snap.” Instead of pulling the lure with a tight line, jerk the rod tip and immediately move it back toward the lure. This creates a split-second of slack line, which allows the Vision 110 to perform its signature 180-degree “u-turn” and side-flash. This unpredictable movement is exactly what triggers a “reaction strike” from the biggest fish in the lake.
Is the Vision 110 FW different from the Saltwater (SW) version?
Yes. The FW version is balanced for the density of freshwater. Using the FW version in saltwater may cause it to float too quickly, while using an SW version in freshwater may cause it to sink. For the perfect “hover” in lakes and rivers, always stick to the FW model.
What is the best rod for this lure?
We recommend a Medium-action lure rod, ideally around 7-21g or 10-30g. A rod with a “fast” tip is essential to impart those sharp, crisp jerks that make the lure dart correctly.
Are the hooks too thin for Pike?
Megabass uses “Katsuage” out-barb hooks which are incredibly sharp and designed for light-to-medium tackle. While they are fantastic for hook-up rates, if you are specifically targeting very large Pike in heavy cover, you might consider swapping to a slightly heavier gauge treble—just be aware that this can affect the lure’s delicate buoyancy.
Unmatched engineering and a legacy of success—the Megabass Vision 110 FW is the professional’s choice for freshwater dominance.
