Product Details and Uses

Nytro Feederlink Helicopter Rig

The Nytro Feederlink Helicopter Rig is the ultimate time-saver for the modern feeder angler. Tying a perfect, tangle-free helicopter rig on the bank can be fiddly and time-consuming, especially in cold or windy conditions. These precision-tied rigs come ready to use straight from the packet, ensuring your presentation is consistent and professional every single time.

Designed for maximum versatility, the helicopter setup allows your hooklength to rotate freely around the mainline, virtually eliminating tangles during the cast. Because the quick-change swivel sits between two adjustable stoppers, you can slide your hooklength up or down the link to find the perfect feeding zone—whether you’re fishing for “finesse” silverfish or hard-fighting commercial carp.

Key Features & Benefits

  • Ready-to-Fish Convenience: No more complicated knots on the bank. Simply thread the rig onto your mainline and you are ready to go in seconds.

  • Anti-Tangle Design: The “helicopter” rotation ensures the hooklink stays away from the feeder during flight and as it settles on the lake bed.

  • Fully Adjustable: The quick-change swivel is held by two high-grip stoppers, allowing you to change the distance between your hook and the feeder instantly to suit the fish’s behavior.

  • Premium Components: Built using high-quality monofilament and Connex swivels and stoppers for maximum break strength and reliability under pressure.

  • Quick-Change System: The integrated quick-change swivel allows you to swap hooklengths in seconds without re-tying any knots.

Where to Use the Nytro Helicopter Rig

  • Silty or Weedy Bottoms: The helicopter rig is famous for “silt fishing.” Because the feeder hits the bottom first, the hooklink can settle gently on top of any debris or soft silt rather than being pulled down into it.

  • Distance Casting: If you are “winding it up” for long-range work, the helicopter rig is the most aerodynamic and tangle-resistant setup available.

  • Searching the Water Column: By sliding the stoppers further away from the feeder, you can effectively fish “on the drop” or target fish that are hovering just above the deck.

Gerry’s Pro Tip

“The helicopter rig is my absolute secret weapon when the fishing gets tough on silty commercials. A standard running rig often pulls your hookbait into the muck, but with this Nytro setup, I slide the stoppers about 4 to 6 inches up the line. This ensures that when the feeder plugs into the silt, my hookbait sits perfectly presented right on top. Also, always give those Connex stoppers a little ‘wet’ with some water before sliding them—it prevents any friction damage to the mono and keeps the rig at maximum strength!”

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How do I attach this to my mainline?

A: Most anglers prefer to tie a small loop in their mainline and use a loop-to-loop attachment, or simply tie the mainline directly to the top swivel of the feederlink. It’s designed to be a seamless extension of your setup.

Q: Is this rig legal on all commercial fisheries?

A: Most commercials allow helicopter rigs as long as they are “free running” or the stoppers can slide off the end of the line in the event of a break. Because these stoppers are adjustable and not “fixed” with glue or crimps, they are generally accepted, but always check your local club or fishery rules first.

Q: Can I use this for heavy river fishing?

A: Absolutely. The high-quality monofilament and Connex hardware are more than strong enough for river work. It’s an excellent choice for targeting Chub and Barbel where you want a tangle-free presentation in moving water.

Q: What size feeder should I use with this?

A: The hooked snap swivel is universal. You can use anything from a light 15g window feeder up to heavy distance cage feeders. The rig is balanced to handle a wide variety of weights.
