“The 14ft Tidal X is faster and ‘zippier’ than the 15ft version, which makes it incredibly aerodynamic in high winds. To get the best out of it, try a smooth ‘overhead thump’ or a relaxed ‘off-the-ground’ cast. Pair this rod with an 8000-sized long-cast fixed spool reel and thin braid (0.16mm-0.18mm) with a tapered leader. The rod compresses quickly, meaning you can achieve massive distance with a much shorter, faster casting arc than you’d use on a longer rod.
