The Savage Gear Alpha SG2 Trolling BC is a purpose-built baitcasting rod meticulously designed for the specific demands of big bait trolling, especially with planer boards. This rod combines immense power with a unique action to handle the rigors of this fishing style and to confidently battle large, powerful fish.

Built on a powerful 24+30T high modulus carbon blank, the rod features a moderate-fast action. This action is engineered to effortlessly handle the strain of trolling big baits and to absorb the effects of waves, which is crucial for preventing the accidental triggering of a side planer. When a fish strikes, the progressive action allows the rod to bend smoothly, safely absorbing runs and head shakes, which minimizes the chance of hook pulls or line breaks. The rod is also highly effective for presenting big baits without a planer board.

The design prioritizes angler comfort and control, with a full rear handle and a long front handle that provide an excellent, secure grip for both fighting fish and managing the trolling setup.
