Product Details and Uses

Savage Gear Petit Gravity Crank SR

Deliver maximum lure action in a compact, super-finesse profile with the Savage Gear Petit Gravity Crank SR (Shallow Runner). Engineered with meticulous attention to detail, this micro crankbait features an internal body design optimized to maximize internal air volume. This construction creates an extremely lively, frantic wobbling action alongside a subtle, high-pitch sound frequency that triggers explosive reaction strikes from wary or pressured predators.
Despite its diminutive size, the Petit Gravity Crank SR casts surprisingly well and begins working immediately upon retrieve. Fitted with custom, needle-sharp treble hooks, this ultra-light lure is a deadly weapon for targeting perch, chub, trout, pike, asp, and bass across both freshwater venues and light saltwater estuaries.

Key Applications & Where To Use

  • Canal & Urban Perch Tactics: The frantic, erratic action coaxes reluctant perch out from around canal towpaths, bridge footings, and overhanging vegetation.
  • River & Stream Chub & Trout: Perfect for twitching across shallow riffles, pool tails, and eddy lines where big chub and wild trout lie in wait for surface prey.
  • Light Saltwater Estuary Fishing: Ideal for working over shallow weed beds and rocky harbour edges for inquisitive school bass and garfish hunting small baitfish.
  • Warm-Weather Shallow Running: Excellent when fish are holding near the upper water column or feeding actively over shallow weed beds during spring and summer months.

Gerry’s Fishing Pro Tip

Pro Tip: To maximize the frantic action of this micro-crank, fish it on a ultra-light set up using a thin 6lb–8lb fluorocarbon leader attached with a small, lightweight lure snap (such as an oval or egg snap) rather than tying your leader directly to the tow point. The snap gives the lure total freedom of movement, allowing the Petit Gravity Crank to kick wildly on steady retrieves and dart erratically during subtle rod-tip twitches.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What depth does the Petit Gravity Crank SR swim at?
A: As a Shallow Runner (SR), it is designed to operate in the upper layer of the water column, typically diving down between 0.3m and 0.8m depending on retrieve speed and rod position.
Q: Can I use this micro crankbait for light sea angling?
A: Yes! It is highly effective in shallow estuaries, coastal rock pools, and harbour margins for bass, pollack, and garfish feeding on small fry. Remember to give the lure a quick rinse in fresh water after saltwater use to protect the split rings and hooks.
Q: What type of retrieve works best with this lure?
A: A simple “crank and pause” retrieve works wonders. The frantic wobble on the reel-in followed by a momentary pause—where the buoyant body slowly floats upwards—is often when the strike occurs.

t and chub.
