Product Details and Uses

Shimano Ultegra XR XTD 14000: The Long-Range Specialist

Dominating the top of Shimano’s legendary Big Pit family, the Ultegra XR XTD 14000 is a masterclass in distance engineering. This insanely lightweight reel is designed for the serious angler who demands maximum rod speed and surgical precision. Whether you are targeting monster carp at extreme range or launching baits beyond the surf breakers, the Ultegra XR provides the technical edge to reach spots other reels simply can’t.

Generate Maximum Rod Speed: The Ci4+ Advantage

The standout feature of the Ultegra XR is its weight—or lack of it. By utilizing a compact Ci4+ composite body, Shimano has drastically reduced the mass of this 14000-sized reel. This lightness enables you to generate faster rod speeds during the cast, which is the single most important factor in achieving extreme distances.

Elite Casting Technologies

The Ultegra XR is packed with flagship features designed to maximize every yard of your cast:

Rigid Cast: A revolutionary technology that reduces spool deflection at the moment of release. By minimizing vibration, it ensures your lead flies straighter and further with supreme accuracy.
Super Slow 5 Oscillation: Achieves near-perfect line lay with 55 wraps of line per full spool cycle. This reduces friction as the line leaves the spool, resulting in significantly longer casts.
Parallel Body: Ensures the reel is perfectly aligned with the rod blank, preventing line slap against the blank during the cast.

Internal Power & All-Weather Protection

Inside the G-Free Body, the Ultegra XR houses a powerhouse of Shimano engineering:

InfinityDrive & SilentDrive: These technologies, derived from high-end models, produce smooth, powerful rotation even under the extreme pressure of a trophy fish or heavy lead.
HAGANE Gear & X-SHIP: Provides long-lasting smoothness and the cranking torque needed for heavy-duty retrieval.
Hi-Speed Drag: Allows you to switch from “free spool” to “fight mode” with minimal rotation of the drag knob, giving you instant, precise control.
X-Protect: Provides elite-level water resistance, ensuring the internal mechanisms remain pristine in all weather conditions.
