It’s designed for predator anglers who use lighter lures and need a fast retrieve to cover water quickly or work specific lures effectively. The “51” indicates its smaller size with a left-hand retrieve, while “HSG” stands for High Speed Gear, and “LH” specifies that it is a left-hand retrieve model. The “Metallic Trooper” refers to its sleek metallic gray finish. This reel is well-suited for techniques like finesse jigging, topwater fishing, or burning spinnerbaits and buzzbaits.

Durable Construction: The reel is built on a robust one-piece aluminum frame. This provides a solid and rigid platform that prevents flex, ensuring smooth operation even when fighting a decent-sized fish. The side plates are made from carbon, which helps to keep the overall weight down.
Bearing System: It features a 7+1 sealed stainless steel ball bearing system. While a lower count than the premium W6 series, this is still a high-quality system that provides a very smooth retrieve and casting experience.
Braking System: The reel is equipped with an Internal Centrifugal Brake (CBS6) with six shoes. This system offers a high degree of control over the spool, helping to prevent backlashes and allowing for fine-tuning of the cast to match different lure weights and wind conditions.
Drag System: The drag system is a multi-stack Teflon drag. It provides a smooth and consistent drag pressure, which is crucial for fighting fish on lighter lines. It also includes a “Drag Clicker” feature, which produces an audible clicking sound when line is being pulled from the reel, a useful indicator during a fight.
Gearing: The “HSG” (High Speed Gear) designation means it has a fast gear ratio of 8.1:1.
