The Sakura Loujig ZN is a premium casting jig engineered for both shore-based and boat angling. This 79mm, 40g version is the “heavyweight” of the range, offering incredible density for long-range casting into the wind while maintaining an eco-friendly profile. Made entirely of zinc alloy, it is 100% lead-free, providing a harder surface that withstands the impacts of rocky bottoms and the sharp teeth of aggressive predators.

Its standout feature is its asymmetrical profile: one side is almost flat, while the other is slightly curved. This design allows for a rapid, controlled descent and a high-frequency “fluttering” action (butterfly action) on the fall, which is often when predators like Amberjack, Tuna, and Sea Bass strike.

Where & How to Use It

Shore Jigging: The 40g weight is ideal for “Shore Jigging” enthusiasts. It cuts through coastal winds to reach offshore breaks and deep gullies where Sea Bass and Bluefish hunt.
Boat Vertical Jigging: Use it for light vertical work over reefs or wrecks. The asymmetrical fall is particularly deadly for Snapper, Grouper, and Amberjack.
The “Stop & Go” Technique: Retrieve the jig linearly to show off its oscillating swim, then suddenly stop. The Loujig will flutter and shimmy as it sinks—this change in rhythm is a major trigger for following fish.
Deep-Water Species: Because of its fast descent and phosphorescent signal, it’s an excellent choice for targeting species in the 20m–40m depth range when fishing from a boat.

“The Loujig ZN 40g is my go-to when the current is pushing hard. Zinc has a slightly different ‘vibration’ in the water than lead, and I’ve found that on pressured days, it can really out-fish traditional jigs. For the best results, try a 7’6″ to 9′ Medium-Heavy (MH) rod like the Sakura Ryokan to get that whip-like cast. If you’re targeting toothy species like Mackerel or Bluefish, those UV-reactive colors like ‘Scale Sardine’ or ‘Joker Pink’ are absolute game-changers
