The Sakura Ryokan SW Casting 6’3″ is the precision “finesse” model of the Ryokan slow jigging series. Designed for anglers who prefer a lighter, more sensitive approach, this 50–150g rod is perfect for working shallower coastal reefs, estuaries, or areas with moderate tidal flow. At 6’3″ (1.91m), the single-piece construction ensures a flawlessly fluid action, allowing the IM30T Carbon blank to do exactly what it was designed for: breathing life into light slow jigs.
This model is particularly favored for “Light Slow Jigging,” where the goal is to use smaller lures to target a wide variety of species. The casting (trigger) configuration provides the tactile “thumb-on-spool” control needed to detect subtle bites during the flutter-fall, which is often the difference between a successful session and a blank day.

Ultra-Reactive IM30T Blank: This model features the most “playful” tip in the series. It is tuned to respond to jigs as light as 50g, loading easily and snapping back to create that essential horizontal “stall” and flutter that triggers predatory instincts.
Superior “Feel” and Feedback: Being a single-piece rod with a lower weight rating, the 6’3″ provides incredible feedback. You can feel the blade of the jig vibrating, the texture of the seabed, and even the “pressure wave” of a fish approaching the lure.
Fuji K-Frame Guide System: Essential for slow jigging where line slack is frequent. The K-frame guides prevent the thin braid from tangling around the rod tip or guides during the descent, keeping your focus on the fish.
Ergonomic Casting Design: The trigger reel seat is shaped for a “low-profile” grip, allowing the reel to sit comfortably in the palm. This ensures a direct line of communication between the angler, the rod, and the jig.
Shallow to Mid-Depth Fishing: Ideal for depths between 20m and 60m. It excels when you want to use lighter jigs to mimic small sprats, sand eels, or juvenile squid.
Species Targeting: This is an exceptional rod for Bass, Gurnard, Sea Bream, and Perch, as well as smaller Pollock and Cod. The forgiving action prevents hooks from pulling out of the soft mouths of species like Bream.
“Light Slow Pitch” Technique: Use a lighter touch with the reel handle—half-turns are often enough to make a 100g jig “dance.” The rod’s elasticity does the heavy lifting, so you can fish all day without fatigue.
Alternative Lure Use: This rod is also highly effective for “Micro-Jigging” and fishing Inchiku or Madai lures in the 60-120g range, where a smooth, progressive bend is required.
“The 50-150g model is the ‘fun’ rod of the group. If you’re fishing in relatively shallow water or light tides, there’s no need for heavy gear. I pair this with a small, high-quality baitcaster and PE #1.0 to #1.5 Sensibraid. Using a 1.2 or 1.5 PE line with a 100g jig on this rod gives you a level of sensitivity that is almost addictive—you’ll feel the fish breathe on the lure
