The Gerry’s 3-in-1 Bullet Mould is a classic, highly versatile tool designed for anglers who want the flexibility to cast their own streamlined running leads. This mould is specifically engineered to produce the three most popular sizes of “drilled bullets”—1oz, 1.5oz, and 2oz—all from a single, easy-to-use unit.
These “bullet” or “egg” style leads are prized for their aerodynamic shape and their ability to slide freely on the line. The mould creates a center bore of approximately 1.3mm, which is wide enough to accommodate heavy-duty monofilament and shock leaders up to 80lb+. Whether you are a predator specialist or a sea angler, this mould provides a cost-effective way to keep your tackle box stocked.
| Feature | Details |
| Lead Sizes | 1oz, 1.5oz, and 2oz |

Pro Tip: To ensure a smooth internal bore, always use a thin coating of mould release spray or a light dusting of graphite powder on the central pin before pouring. This prevents the lead from “gripping” the pin, allowing you to slide the finished lead off effortlessly. If the hole feels tight, a quick pass with a 1.5mm drill bit will ensure even the thickest shock leaders glide through without resistance.
Pike River Fishing: Use these as “rolling leads.” The rounded shape allows the bait to slowly bounce and roll along the riverbed with the current, searching out pike in deep slacks and undercuts.
Sea Float Fishing: Perfect for weighting “Big Sliders” or heavy saltwater floats when targeting wrasse, pollack, or mackerel. The inline design ensures the float sits perfectly upright.
Running Ledger Rigs: Ideal for shore anglers targeting flatfish or bass in light surf. The lead sits on the seabed while the line slides through, allowing the fish to take the bait without feeling the immediate weight of the lead.
Freshwater Specimen Hunting: A great choice for large-bait presentations for carp or eels in snaggy areas where you expect to lose a few leads and want to keep costs down.
Can I pour all three sizes at once?
Yes, you can pour all three sizes in one go if you have enough molten lead, or you can pour them individually depending on your current needs. The mould is designed to be flexible.
Is it safe to use for a beginner?
Absolutely. We include a comprehensive set of safety instructions with every mould. The most important rules are to work in a well-ventilated area, wear eye protection and heat-resistant gloves, and ensure your mould is completely dry and pre-warmed before pouring.
What kind of wire do I need for the center hole?
The mould comes with the necessary pin to create the 1.3mm hole. You do not need to buy additional wires; the “drilled” effect is created during the casting process, resulting in a clean, inline channel for your fishing line.
