This is a “Wide” (W) spool, 2-speed masterpiece designed to offer uncompromised excellence in the most extreme offshore environments on the planet.

Built from 6061-T6 machined aluminium with forged side plates, the Makaira is virtually indestructible. Its heart is a 17-4 grade stainless steel helical-cut gear system, which provides significantly more torque and smoother meshing than traditional straight-cut gears. With a staggering 45.4kg (100lbs) of Max Drag, this reel is built to handle the heat of the world’s most powerful fish without breaking a sweat.
