The Regiment IV Uptide is built on a “short butt, long tip” format, which is a classic design for this type of rod. This construction provides a smooth, progressive action. The tip is designed to be highly sensitive, allowing you to detect even the subtlest bites and “slack liners” (when a fish picks up the bait and swims toward you, creating slack in the line). As the rod bends under the pressure of a fish, the action seamlessly transitions into the powerful mid and butt sections, giving you the necessary leverage to fight and land larger species.

The rod’s blank is constructed from a high-modulus 30T carbon, which provides a lightweight feel without compromising on strength. A key feature is PENN’s proprietary SLS3 (Spiral Layer Structure) blank construction. This technology results in a blank with a very thin diameter, yet with incredible power and durability.

To withstand the harsh saltwater environment, the rod is equipped with saltwater-proof SeaGuide guides. These guides are designed to be corrosion-resistant and provide smooth line movement, whether you’re using braided or monofilament lines.
