A: We wouldn’t recommend it. The guide configuration and the starting guide (the one closest to the reel) are specifically sized and positioned to handle the large loops of line coming off a fixed-spool (spinning) reel. Using a multiplier will reduce your casting/dropping efficiency and won’t balance correctly.

Q: Is cork durable enough for saltwater fishing?

A: Absolutely! Cork has been used in high-end fly and salt rods for decades. It provides excellent grip even when covered in fish slime and is very easy to clean. Just give it a quick wipe with a damp cloth and some fresh water after your trip to keep it looking like new.
