Boom Attachment: A small bead and a strong swivel are tied to the end of the mainline. The bead prevents the boom from sliding down over the knot.
Trace: The hook trace (snood) is tied to the free end of the swivel.
Lead Weight: The lead weight is attached to the snap swivel on the end of the boom.

When a fish bites, the line slides freely through the boom and the fish pulls directly against the rod tip, not the weight, providing excellent bite indication.
