Product Details and Uses

The Warfare II 20LW is built for durability while keeping weight manageable. Its frame is constructed from lightweight graphite, which is then reinforced with aluminum frame rings on the sideplates. This combination provides the necessary rigidity to prevent frame-flex under heavy loads while resisting corrosion in saltwater environments.

A major selling point is the drag system. It is outfitted with PENN’s proprietary HT-100™ carbon fiber drag washers, which are industry-renowned for their power and consistency. This system ensures a smooth, non-jerky drag output, crucial for fighting powerful fish and protecting light leaders. The drag is controlled by a Star Drag mechanism.

The reel utilizes a robust drivetrain featuring machined brass main and pinion gears for excellent strength and long-term durability. The mechanical core is supported by a 2+1 stainless steel ball bearing system (often referred to as 3 bearings total), which provides smooth operation under load and an Instant Anti-Reverse bearing to eliminate rotor back play and ensure immediate hook setting power.

For user convenience, the reel features a synchronized Level Wind system. This mechanism automatically distributes the line evenly across the spool during retrieve, maximizing line capacity and preventing line bunching that can lead to problems during the next deployment. Additionally, the Line Capacity Rings on the spool provide at-a-glance information, indicating when you have 1/3, 2/3, and a full spool of line remaining.
