Daiwa 26 ZX 6000 Reel

Key Specifications

Core Features

• Tough FRP Body & Rotor: Constructed from a high-strength Fibre Reinforced Polymer chassis that keeps internal gears aligned under heavy cranking torque while keeping overall weight down.
• 12kg Heavy-Duty Drag System: Delivers smooth, non-stick pressure to stop powerful runs from specimen fish near snags, weed beds, or boat hulls.
• 4+1 Stainless Bearing System: Provides silky-smooth retrieves and long-term durability across active lure retrieval and heavy bait work.
• Forged Aluminium Machine-Cut Spool: High-capacity, precision-engineered metal spool optimized for smooth line release during long-distance casts.
• Solid Aluminium Handle with T-Knob: Delivers maximum winding leverage and a firm, non-slip grip when playing large fish or working high-resistance lures.
• Infinite Anti-Reverse & Castlock Bail: Eliminates backplay for solid hook-sets and prevents accidental bail closure during hard overhead casts.

Pro Tip from the Gerry’s Team

Pro Tip: The mammoth 300m capacity for 0.27mm braid makes the 26 ZX 6000 an absolute standout choice for heavy predator and saltwater lure work. When spooling up with heavy braided line, always start with a few meters of monofilament backing on the forged aluminium spool (or apply a strip of rubber electrical tape to the arbor) to prevent the entire braid pack from slipping under heavy drag pressure. Pair this reel with an 8ft–9ft heavy lure rod or a 10ft–12ft deadbait rod for the ultimate pike or pollack setup.

Ideal Applications & Where to Use

• Specimen Pike Angling: Excellent for heavy bank deadbait setups, big jerkbaits, and casting massive soft plastics/swimbaits for large predators.
• Heavy Saltwater Lure & Boat Fishing: Built to handle fast-running coastal pollack, wrasse, sea bass, and cod off piers, rocky headlands, and boat marks.
• Heavy Freshwater River & Ledger Work: A great heavy-duty reel for holding bottom with large weights and targeting hard-fighting river species like barbel in fast flows.
