Where to Use It

Frequently Asked Questions

Are these hooks strong enough for big Cod?

Yes. The 3/0 size is a robust “medium” hook. While not intended for monster Conger, they are more than capable of landing double-figure Cod and Pollack without straightening.

Can I wash and reuse these rigs?

Absolutely. To get the most life out of your Sabiki rig, we recommend rinsing the silicon squids and hooks in fresh water after use and hanging them to dry. This prevents the nickel hooks from dulling and keeps the silicon supple.

What weight should I use with this rig?

This depends on the depth and tide, but because these squids have a bit of “drag” in the water, you’ll typically want to use a lead between 6oz and 12oz for boat fishing to ensure your line stays vertical.

Does the color of the squid matter?
